Cinder is honestly such a fun take on Cinderella. It’s set in this futuristic world with cyborgs and a deadly plague, which sounds kind of wild, but it totally works.

Cinder is really easy to like—she’s tough, sarcastic, and just feels real. I liked how her story slowly unfolds, especially when you start realizing there’s way more to her than it seems. And Kai is a solid love interest without taking over the whole story.

The world-building is cool without being confusing, and the mix of sci-fi and fairy tale kept things interesting throughout. It slows down a tiny bit in the middle, but once it picks back up, it’s hard to put down.

If you like retellings with a different spin and a little romance mixed in, this one’s definitely worth picking up. It’s an easy, addictive read.
