Kiss Slay Replay

Rachel Harrison has a special talent for taking something that seems fun and slightly ridiculous and somehow turning it into something creepy, clever, and completely entertaining—and Kiss, Slay, Replay was no exception.

This book was weird in the BEST possible way. It has horror, humor, messy characters, plenty of WTF moments, and that slightly unhinged energy that kept me wondering exactly where we were headed.

And honestly? I was happy to just go along for the ride.

There were moments that made me laugh, moments that made me uncomfortable, and a few that had me thinking, “Girl… perhaps we should NOT do that.” Of course, she did it anyway. Because horror characters are apparently allergic to good decisions.

What I really enjoyed was that, underneath all the blood, chaos, and dark humor, something deeper was actuallygoing on. Rachel Harrison is great at sneaking real emotions and complicated relationships into stories while you're distracted by all the insanity.

Was it completely over-the-top at times? Yep.

Did I care? Not even a little.

Sometimes you just need a book that's creepy, funny, bloody, strange, and an absolute blast to read.
