The Counselors

I always love a good summer camp mystery, and The Counselors definitely delivered. It has that nostalgic camp atmosphere mixed with secrets, messy friendships, and just enough suspense to keep me wanting to read one more chapter.

I liked that this wasn't all about shocking twists. Instead, it slowly peeled back the layers of what happened in the past and how those secrets were still affecting everyone years later. The friendships felt realistic, and I appreciated that none of the characters were perfect. They all had flaws, made questionable decisions, and felt like actual people.

The mystery kept me interested, even when I thought I had things figured out. There were still a few surprises along the way, and I enjoyed watching everything come together. I also loved the camp setting—it gave the whole story that isolated, slightly creepy feeling without going over the top.

If you're looking for a nonstop thriller, this probably isn't it. It's more of a slow-burn mystery with plenty of drama, secrets, and complicated relationships. For me, that worked really well.

Overall, this was a fun, entertaining read that kept me engaged from beginning to end. If you like books set at summer camp with buried secrets and friendship drama, I'd definitely recommend picking this one up.
