Amara is easy to root for. She's carrying a lot of pain, but instead of giving up, she keeps pushing forward, even when every answer seems to lead to more questions. I also enjoyed watching her relationship with Azral develop. It isn't rushed, and it fits naturally into the bigger story rather than taking over the plot.

The world-building is one of the book's biggest strengths. There's a lot going on, but it never felt overwhelming, and I found myself wanting to know more about the different kingdoms, the magic, and the history behind everything. The pacing stays pretty fast, with plenty of twists and betrayals to keep things interesting.

The only thing I wished for was a little more time with some of the supporting characters. A few relationships felt like they could have been explored a bit deeper, especially toward the end when everything starts happening at once.
