Twenty Years Later is a really solid, fast-moving thriller that’s easy to sink into. It follows Avery Mason, a true-crime TV reporter who decides to take another look at a double murder case that was supposedly solved decades ago—but the more she digs, the more things stop adding up.

This is one of those books that keeps the pages turning without trying too hard. The chapters are short, the timeline shifts smoothly, and there’s always another clue or reveal pulling you forward. It has strong true-crime vibes and a newsroom feel that makes the investigation feel believable and engaging.

The characters are straightforward but likable, especially Avery, who feels determined without being over-the-top. The twists are handled well—not ridiculous, just enough to keep you guessing and invested in how everything will come together.
