Violeta

Reading Violeta honestly felt like listening to someone sit down and tell you the story of their entire life — all the love, heartbreak, mistakes, and regrets included. The book follows Violeta through almost 100 years of life, and somehow it still feels incredibly personal and emotional the whole way through.

What I really loved was how real Violeta felt. She’s not perfect at all, and there were definitely moments where I wanted to shake her, especially when it came to some of her relationships, but that’s what made her feel human. Her life is messy, complicated, sometimes heartbreaking, and sometimes beautiful in ways she doesn’t even realize at the time.

The writing is gorgeous without trying too hard, and even though this is historical fiction, it never felt dry or heavy. It’s more about the emotions, the family dynamics, and how life changes people over time. Some parts are slower and reflective, but it honestly worked for the kind of story this is.

This isn’t the kind of book you race through for twists or action. It’s the kind that slowly pulls you into someone’s life until you feel weirdly attached to them by the end. I finished it feeling emotional and a little nostalgic, like I’d just heard someone’s life story for the last time.

If you like character-driven stories, family sagas, and books that feel thoughtful and emotional, this one is definitely worth reading.
