Camera Shy is one of those books that pulls you in pretty quickly, especially if you like a mix of romance, spice, and a little emotional growth mixed in.
The story follows Avery, who’s dealing with a rough breakup and a lot of insecurity about herself, when she ends up in Vegas for the summer. She meets Finn, her photographer neighbor, and what starts as kind of an arrangement to help her feel more confident slowly turns into something much deeper.
What really stood out to me was Avery’s journey. Her struggles with confidence and self-image felt relatable and pretty honest at times. It’s not just about the romance—it’s about her learning to see herself differently, which gave the story a little more depth than just a typical steamy read.
And yes… it is a steamy read. The chemistry between Avery and Finn is strong, and there are definitely some spicy moments throughout. If that’s your thing, you’ll probably fly through this one.
That said, it won’t work for everyone. Parts of the relationship can feel a bit intense, and the story leans heavily into that dynamic. But if you’re into emotional, slightly messy romances with a lot of heat and a self-confidence arc, this one is an easy, engaging read.
