The story exposes the cracks behind picture-perfect lives, weaving jealousy, manipulation, and obsession into a dangerous game of one-upmanship. Neither Cat nor Neena is particularly likable, but that moral murkiness is what makes the tension so delicious. The pace starts as a slow burn, steadily tightening into a compulsively readable spiral of secrets and betrayals that ends with a devious payoff.
