In The Woods

I had a really good time with In the Dark. Give me an isolated setting, a group of people with secrets, and a mystery where no one can be trusted, and I'm all in. Loreth White did a great job creating that constant feeling of tension, and I found myself second-guessing everyone from start to finish.

The atmosphere was probably my favorite part. The remote lodge, the storm rolling in, and the fact that there was nowhere to run made everything feel so much more intense. Every time I thought I had figured out who was behind it all, something happened that made me completely change my mind. I love when a thriller keeps me guessing without feeling like it's trying too hard.

There are quite a few characters to keep track of, but each one has their own secrets and motives, which made it fun trying to piece everything together. The story moves at a steady pace, and once things really get going, it was hard to put down.

The ending had a few twists that caught me off guard, and while a couple of moments stretched believability just a bit, I was having too much fun to care. Sometimes you just want a thriller that keeps you entertained, and this one definitely did.

If you're a fan of locked-room mysteries, remote settings, and suspense that keeps you guessing until the very end, I'd definitely recommend In the Dark. It was creepy, twisty, and exactly the kind of thriller I love getting lost in.
