Killer Jam

This one was such a cozy, easy read—perfect if you want something a little mysterious but not too heavy.
The story follows Lucy, who leaves her fast-paced life in Houston to take over her grandmother’s farm in a tiny Texas town. Of course, things don’t stay peaceful for long. A woman in town ends up dead, and somehow one of Lucy’s jam jars gets tied to the scene…so now she’s not just making preserves, she’s trying to clear her name.
What I liked most was the setting. The small-town vibe is done really well—it feels gossipy, a little messy, and full of quirky personalities. Everyone seems to know everyone, which makes the mystery more interesting (and a little more complicated). Plus, all the farming and jam-making details added a nice cozy touch.
Lucy is a main character you can actually root for. She’s not perfect, but she’s determined and curious, and I liked that she didn’t just sit back and let things happen—she really goes after the truth.
The mystery itself isn’t super complicated, and I did have a pretty good idea of what was going on before the end. But honestly, that didn’t ruin it for me. It’s more about the journey and the small-town drama than shocking twists.
Overall, this was just a really enjoyable cozy mystery. Nothing overly intense, just a good, solid story with charm and a little bit of humor mixed in.
