One Day In Summer

One Day in Summer by Shari Low is one of those easy-to-get-into, emotional reads that sneaks up on you.
The whole story takes place over just one day, which I really liked—it keeps things moving but still gives you time to get to know everyone. You follow a few different characters whose lives are all kind of connected, and as the day goes on, secrets start coming out, and things don’t go the way anyone expected.
The characters felt pretty real to me. They’re messy, make mistakes, hold onto stuff they probably shouldn’t… just very human. That’s what made the emotional moments hit a little harder.
It does jump between perspectives, so it might feel a little confusing at first keeping everyone straight, but once you settle in, it flows really well.
Overall, it’s a good pick if you want something a little emotional but still easy to read—nothing too heavy, just one of those stories that makes you think about life, timing, and how fast everything can change.
