Preacher's Daughter

This was one of those books that pulled me in because I knew secrets were hiding beneath the surface—and I’m always a sucker for that.
Preacher’s Girl has a dark, emotional feel, especially as it digs into family, religion, expectations, and what happens when the person everyone thinks you should be doesn’t match who you really are. A heaviness runs through the story that kept me curious about what would come next.
I especially liked the way the book plays with appearances. People can look perfectly respectable from the outside while hiding some pretty ugly things underneath, and those were the moments I found the most interesting.
There were a few places where the pacing slowed down more than I would have liked, but I stayed invested because I wanted to see where everything was headed. The darker parts of the story were definitely what worked best for me.
Overall, this was an intriguing read about secrets, choices, consequences, and the things people try desperately to keep buried. Maybe not quite a five-star read for me, but definitely one that kept me turning the pages
