Summer Rental was a really enjoyable read that had a lot more going on than I expected. What starts out feeling like a relaxing summer getaway quickly turns into a story full of family drama, secrets, and plenty of surprises.
I really liked how messy and realistic the characters felt. Nobody was perfect, which made them easy to connect with. The beach-town setting gave the book that perfect summer vibe, but there was always something bubbling under the surface that kept me wanting to know what would happen next.
The story does a great job balancing emotional moments with twists and tension. Every time I thought I had things figured out, something new came along and changed the picture. It kept me hooked from start to finish.
If you're looking for a summer read with a little mystery, a lot of heart, and characters you'll actually care about, Summer Rental is definitely worth picking up. It was the kind of book that was easy to get lost in for an afternoon.
