Tears for Tess by Pepper Winters is one of those reads that just… hits hard.

It’s dark, emotional, and not always easy to get through—but in a way that keeps you completely hooked. The story follows Tess, who gets thrown into a terrifying situation that completely strips away her sense of control, and you feel every bit of that fear and confusion right along with her. It’s intense, sometimes brutal, and definitely not a light read.

What really stood out to me was how raw everything felt. The writing pulls you deep into Tess’s head, and even when things are uncomfortable (which is often), you can’t look away. The dynamic between Tess and Q is complicated and messy in a way that will probably divide readers—some will love it, some might struggle with it.

This book leans heavily into dark romance territory, so definitely check trigger warnings before going in. But if you like stories that push boundaries, explore power dynamics, and keep you emotionally invested the whole time, this one delivers.

Overall, it’s gripping, unsettling, and hard to forget—just be prepared, it’s not for the faint of heart.
