The atmosphere in this book was probably my favorite part. You can almost picture the tiny bookshop, the crowded cafés, and all the writers drifting through Paris during that time. It made me want to wander into a little bookstore and stay there for hours.

I also liked that the story didn’t just focus on literature. Sylvia’s relationship with Adrienne Monnier added a deeply personal, emotional dimension to the book, making her feel more real than just a historical figure on a page.

The pacing slowed down a bit in some parts, but overall I really enjoyed it. It’s definitely more of a character-driven story than a fast-paced one, but if you love books about bookstores, writers, and strong women in history, this one is worth reading. It has a cozy, thoughtful feel to it that stayed with me after I finished.
