Thorn honestly surprised me in the best way. It starts out as a classic fairy-tale retelling, but it quickly becomes something much deeper and more emotional. Thorn is such an easy character to root for because she’s not perfect or overly heroic — she’s quiet, guarded, and just trying to survive the hand life dealt her.

What I loved most was the atmosphere. The whole book has this soft, slightly haunting fairytale feel to it, but there’s also a lot of heart underneath it. The story touches on cruelty, kindness, poverty, and trust in a way that feels genuine without getting too heavy. And the romance? Super subtle and slow-burning, which honestly fit the story perfectly.

If you like fantasy that’s more character-focused than action-packed, this is definitely worth reading. It’s thoughtful, emotional, and one of those books that kind of sneaks up on you the more you read.
