It picks up with Stacey and Kade, and honestly, things are just as messy—if not worse. There’s so much history between them, and the more you learn, the more you realize how much damage they’ve both been carrying around. It’s heavy, and it doesn’t really let up.
Their relationship is complicated in every possible way. One minute you feel for them, and the next you’re frustrated because they keep making the same mistakes and hurting each other. But at the same time, you can’t deny there’s something there that keeps pulling them back together.
What kept me hooked was how the story slowly reveals everything. It’s not rushed—it just keeps peeling back layers, and you start to understand why they are the way they are. Even when it’s uncomfortable, you still want to know more.
I will say, this isn’t an easy read. It deals with some really dark stuff, and it can feel pretty intense at times. Definitely not something you go into expecting a light romance.
Overall, it’s emotional, messy, and kind of exhausting—but in a way that sticks with you after you finish.
