Before I Fall is one of those books that sneaks up on you. It starts out feeling like a typical high school story—popular girl, drama, friendships, parties, all that—and then suddenly it turns into something way deeper and heavier than you expect.
The story follows Sam Kingston, who has what seems like the perfect life… until she dies in a car accident. But instead of moving on, she wakes up and relives the same day over and over again. At first, she’s confused and frustrated, but as the loop continues, Sam starts noticing things she'd ignored before—how she treats people, what she says without thinking, and the impact she and her friends have on others.
What I really loved about this book is how emotional it gets. Sam isn’t instantly likable, and honestly, she can be selfish and shallow in the beginning—but that’s what makes her growth feel real. Watching her slowly change, question everything, and try to make things right is heartbreaking and powerful.
