Episode Thirteen

Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie was such a fun, creepy read. If you love haunted house stories and paranormal investigation shows, this one is right up your alley.

The story follows the cast of a ghost-hunting TV show as they film what is supposed to be their final episode inside an infamous haunted mansion. Of course, things don't go according to plan. What starts out feeling like a typical paranormal investigation quickly turns into something much darker, and before long, the crew realizes they're dealing with far more than they ever expected.

I really enjoyed the way this story was told through journal entries, transcripts, emails, and recordings. It made everything feel more real, almost as if I were watching the investigation unfold instead of reading about it. The tension builds slowly at first, but once it takes off, I couldn't put the book down.

The atmosphere was easily my favorite part. The house is genuinely creepy, and Craig DiLouie does a great job creating that feeling of dread where you know something bad is coming, but you have no idea what. There were several scenes that gave me chills.

If I had one small complaint, it's that the ending gets a little wild, but honestly, it fit the story and didn't take away from how much I enjoyed it.

If you're a fan of found-footage horror, haunted houses, or books that make you want to leave a light on, Episode Thirteen is definitely worth picking up. It's creepy, fast-paced, and a lot of fun.
