Grown

Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson is one of those books that makes you uncomfortable in the best possible way. I went into it expecting a compelling YA story, but it ended up being so much more. It's emotional, heartbreaking, and honestly pretty hard to put down.

The story follows Enchanted Jones, a talented teenager who gets noticed by a famous music producer. What starts out feeling like a dream come true slowly turns into something much darker as she finds herself trapped in a relationship built on manipulation, control, and abuse. Knowing how realistic these situations are made the story hit even harder.

What I loved most was how authentic Enchanted felt. She's smart and ambitious, but she's also young and vulnerable, which makes it easy to see how she gets pulled into a situation she never expected. Jackson does an incredible job showing how grooming happens gradually and how difficult it can be to recognize when someone is taking advantage of you.

This isn't a light read by any means, but it's an important one. It's the kind of book that keeps you turning pages while also making you stop and think. By the end, I was angry, heartbroken, and completely invested in Enchanted's story.
