Ralph’s Party by Lisa Jewell was honestly such a fun read. It’s messy, dramatic, awkward, and very much feels like people stumbling through relationships and life in the most relatable way possible. Everybody is kind of a disaster at times, but that’s what made it so entertaining.
I really liked the apartment-building setup because everyone’s lives overlap and all the drama slowly builds on itself. There’s a lot of tension, miscommunication, crushes, jealousy, and bad decisions, but it never felt too heavy. It has that cozy early Lisa Jewell charm before she moved into thrillers.
The characters definitely frustrated me sometimes, but I was still completely invested in all of them and needed to know how everything was going to play out by the end. It’s funny, chaotic, a little nostalgic, and just an easy book to get pulled into.
If you like character-driven stories with messy relationships and rom-com energy, this one’s definitely worth picking up.
