I ended up flying through The One Day You Were My Husband because every chapter made me need to know what was really going on. Rosie Walsh does such a good job writing emotional stories that also feel a little tense and mysterious at the same time.
The story starts with this impulsive beach wedding in Thailand, and then everything basically falls apart from there. I really liked Carrie as a main character because she felt flawed and real — she’s dealing with motherhood, marriage, old feelings, and a whole mess of secrets that slowly come out as the story unfolds.
What kept me hooked was how the book constantly made me question people’s motives. Just when I thought I had things figured out, another layer got added. It’s emotional, a little heartbreaking at times, but still has that addictive “just one more chapter” feel.
Definitely recommend this if you like relationship drama mixed with mystery and twists, especially if you enjoy books that are emotional without feeling overly heavy.
