Trust Issues is one of those twisty family thrillers where everyone has secrets—and no one is telling the truth. The story follows siblings Hazel and Kagan Bailey, who return home after their mother’s sudden death, only to find themselves cut out of her will. Their charming stepfather, Perry, seems to have inherited everything, but something about his smooth explanations doesn’t sit right. The more they dig, the darker things get.
This book does a great job blending mystery with family drama. It’s not just about who did what—it’s about how far people will go to protect what they think they deserve. Every character has a flaw, and that moral grayness keeps you guessing until the end. The pacing is solid, the tension builds with each chapter, and when you think you’ve figured it out, another twist hits.
If there’s one downside, it’s that almost everyone is a little shady, so it’s tough to know who to root for. But honestly, that’s part of the fun—it makes the story feel more real and unpredictable.
