Twilight of Embers

I gave this a neutral review because it is not my typical read. Okay… dragon shifters, mysterious men, found family, danger, secrets AND a why-choose romance? Apparently that was all it took to keep me turning pages.
Twilight of Embers was such a fun, fast read. Hayden arrives at Evergreenve t University hoping to keep her head down and concentrate on school, but that plan goes out the window pretty quickly when she finds herself tangled up with five very different men—and every single one of them is hiding something.
I really liked Hayden. She has a vulnerability that made me want to protect her, but she isn't completely helpless either. And considering everything she's been through, I loved watching her finally start to feel like she belonged somewhere.
Then there are the guys. Protective. Possessive. Broody. Sweet. Grumpy. Slightly unhinged. Basically, there's a flavor for everyone. I also liked that their personalities were different enough that I wasn't constantly trying to remember who was who, which can sometimes happen to me with why-choose books.
The dragon-shifter storyline was probably my favorite part. I wanted even MORE of the supernatural world, because the romance definitely takes center stage here. There's mystery and danger lurking underneath everything, though, and once the story started revealing that Hayden might be far more important than anyone realizes, I was hooked.
