Under Her Spell

Under Her Spell provides the right magic to read during this Halloween season.  This book is told in a dual timeline, then and now, high school and present.  I would say this book is an easy read, a gothic story with some background witchcraft to make the plot more enticing.  The story gripped me from the start and where a little off in the center, the last third of the book kept adding twists and turns.  The characters are well written, and the backstory really gives them personality.  Liv, the main character destroys a high school friendship and moves away from her small town never looking back.  It isn’t until ten years later when she hears from her high school friend, that she must go back to face the demons from her past.  Her old best friend is missing, the odd girls from high school successful, and her fiancé is supportive…so what is the problem?  Dive into this book and let the story take hold of you.  K. L. Cerra illustrates a story of close friendship, first loves and betrayal that sparks with magic-both good and evil.
